OUR PROJECT
We’re creating the next generation of space fans, united toward the stars.
To do that Forty Suns is pushing forward on multiple fronts. We’re looking for those who want to help. Contributions give us more resources with which to spread the word. Your help allows us reach more of the people who need to be reached and, ultimately, helps build that next generation of space fans faster.
For this purpose we created an initiative on two platforms:
- Patreon
- GoFundMe
The Patreon initiative is ongoing; an option for those interested in taking on the role of “patron” of our project, with a more intimate connection to the overall push.
GoFundMe is a crowd funding option, providing an easy way to contribute toward a larger goal.
Both initiatives (Patreon & GoFundMe) are explained below.

INITIATIVE #1: PATREON
This one primarily supports our Tai Rade initiative. Tai is our spokesperson, and a key part of getting Forty Suns in front of the people of Earth. She is our biggest beacon of attention.
The Tai Rade Patreon is ongoing, with both:
- Specific items you can donate toward, and
- Ongoing items you can subscribe to.
The idea behind Patreon is to provide a platform for creators to fund their operations so they can continue to deliver content. Our goal with Patreon is to help cover things like:
- Location shoots
- More/better content; higher quality editing and effects
- Equipment
- Post boosts (ads)
- Food and drink for Tai and the crew
- Capers, where Tai does things like ride a jet ski, play in a band, execute a rad shuffle dance, etc.
And other such items.
For this option you may need to create a Patreon account. Obviously our goal is to reduce friction. We want to make your contribution as easy as possible, and we get it: signing up for yet another account/platform is probably not on your bucket list.
However, we can say Patreon is pretty low-strain. If you click the button below you’ll see Tai’s page. There you'll see two main buttons:
- Join for free
- Membership options
There's also a menu, where you'll see "Collections".
Clicking the "Membership options" button will take you to a page where you can subscribe for various tiers. Right now we have only one, for $7/mo. That may seem small, but the ongoing support adds up.
If you go to Collections on the menu, you'll see things you can donate toward once. These are physical items we'll send to you in return for your support.
In all, it’s pretty straightforward.
After that you get your perks, we appreciate your donation, and life for each of us gets that much better. If we do our job right, life for the planet gets a little better too.
INITIATIVE #2: GOFUNDME
This is more of a Big Goal campaign, where we’re raising funds for specific elements of the project, such as:
- Expanding the marketing of our two books, running ads and driving sales
- Adding subscriptions to our newsletter through social posts and ads
- Researching and developing our Retail arm (storefront, inventory, unique items)
- Exploring the next phases of our media plan, which includes video programming
- Development of our kids program to reach the next generations.
And other, larger elements of the project.
Think of the GoFundMe option as more of an investment in something you believe in, to help us lay the foundations of this mission and kickstart its purpose: to spread the word, to reach those who need to be reached.
This one is easier than Patreon, in that you don't need to sign up and you’re probably just making a one-time donation to the cause. It's just a click of the Donate button, enter your info, and you're done.
Sharing either Initiative, even if you don’t donate, would be a really big deal, of course, and we very much appreciate the help.
